By the end of 2026, 191 rural schools will be taught according to the NIS methodology

The NIS methodology shows results in reducing the gap between rural and urban schools. Chairman of the Board of the Autonomous Educational Organization “Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools” Anuar Zhangozin spoke about this at the conference “Bilimdi urpak – Bilimdi el”.
By the end of 2026, NIS, together with the public fund “Qazaqstan Halqyna”, the Foundation for Sustainable Development of Education and the company “Aitas KZ” will cover 191 rural schools as part of the project “Capacity development of rural schools”, which is aimed at improving the quality of education in rural areas . Intellectual schools provide systematic methodological assistance to teachers, monitoring to identify professional needs and educational achievements, create a favorable environment in the school and fully equip them with new teaching aids.
– In accordance with the instructions of the head of state, NIS, together with secondary schools, is implementing an important strategy based on reducing the gap between urban and rural education. The relevance of problems of the quality of education in rural schools became the main reason for the initiation of projects by the AEO "Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools" in 2020 to support rural schools, noted Anuar Zhangozin.
As part of the project “Capacity development of rural schools” the AEO "Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools" works in 3 main areas. The first direction includes a complete diagnosis and study of the current state and key processes of the school, the second direction includes the provision of full methodological support from experts and teachers of Intellectual Schools based on the identified problems of each school. The third direction is aimed at updating the material and technical base of schools.
Also, the Chairman of the Board of the AEO NIS, Anuar Zhangozin, noted that the academic performance of students in 17 support schools has increased significantly:
– Despite the fact that the project has been implemented for less than a year, we are already seeing its effectiveness. Based on the results of the output monitoring of subject knowledge, 4th grade students demonstrate an increase in indicators in Mathematics and the Kazakh language. 8th grade students show positive dynamics in 7 out of 9 subjects. These are the results of studies conducted in accordance with international standards. We will continue to work with schools in this direction.
Also, rural schoolchildren, along with urban ones, compete in Robotics competitions, sports competitions, and many other projects; there are already good results. This year, 13 schoolchildren presented their scientific projects at the Nauryz meetings on 3D bioprinting, smart prostheses and biointerfaces.
At the exhibition organized as part of the conference, digital and printed publications of the Center of Excellence, Center for educational programs and Center for pedagogical measurements for methodological support of teachers were presented. These include the Pedagogical Dialogue magazine, the Modern School Management simulator, and a simulator for the development of functional literacy.
