Сriteria-based assessment

In-school assessment

  • Formative assessment

  • Summative assessment for the unit (SAU) and term (SAT)

Formative assessment is an integral part of the learning process and is carried out regularly by the teacher throughout the educational process. Formative assessment provides continuous feedback between the student and the teacher without assigning marks or grades. In formative assessment, the student has the right to make mistakes and correct them. This approach helps identify students’ capabilities, recognise difficulties, support the achievement of the best results, and make timely adjustments to the learning process.

Summative assessment is conducted to provide teachers, students, and parents with information about students’ progress upon completion of units of the curriculum and a specific academic period (term, academic year, level of education), with the assignment of marks and grades. This facilitates the determining and recording of students’ achievement levels in mastering the curriculum content over a specified period.
