About the Center
The Center for Pedagogical Measurements is a branch of the Autonomous Educational Organization Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools. It serves as a cornerstone in developing the educational quality assessment system across the network of Intellectual Schools. The Center is engaged in the development, piloting, and implementation of modern pedagogical measurement tools that ensure an objective and scientifically grounded assessment of students’ educational achievements.

The Center’s activities are aimed at providing organizational, informational, and technological support for:
educational quality assessment procedures;
selection of students and teachers;
criteriа-based assessment system;
monitoring and analysis of students’ academic achievements;
final examination and external summative assessment
teacher attestation;
certification as part of professional development programmes.
International Cooperation
The Center actively cooperates with leading international organizations in the field of pedagogical measurements, including:
Cambridge University Press & Assessment (United Kingdom);
Cito (the Netherlands).
Within the framework of this cooperation, joint projects are implemented, expert support is provided for assessment processes, and international experience and best practices are exchanged.
The Center is a member of:
International Association for Educational Assessment (IEAE);
Association of Educational Assessment (AEA-Europe).
Participation in professional associations provides access to modern research, innovative approaches, and international practices in the field of pedagogical measurements.
Innovation and Development
The Center for Pedagogical Measurements was the first in Kazakhstan to:
develop and implement a comprehensive system for monitoring students’ academic achievements;
introduce language proficiency standards in accordance with the international Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
Today, the Center is developing the assessment of students’ functional literacy, aimed at determining their ability to apply knowledge and skills in real-life situations.
In addition, for the first time in Kazakhstan, the Center has initiated the development, piloting, and implementation of a system for assessing students’ non-cognitive skills, focused on evaluating personal, social, emotional, and behavioral characteristics that influence academic success and students’ further development.
