The number of rural schools implementing NIS methods will increase in the Aktobe region

This year, the number of rural schools using NIS methodological approaches in teaching will increase to 63. In the next 3 years there will be almost 200. 12 of them are in the Aktobe region. Chairman of the AEO NIS Board Anuar Zhangozin announced this on June 20, 2023 at the presentation of the project “Capacity development of rural schools in the Aktobe region using digital technologies.” Reducing the educational quality gap between rural and urban schools is one of NIS's most important strategies. Work in this direction has been ongoing since 2020. Initially, 14 rural schools implemented NIS methods. The project turned out to be so successful that it was decided to scale it throughout the country. Thanks to the support of the Fund for Sustainable Development of Education and the Foundation "Qazaqstan Halkyna", significant funds are allocated to equip rural schools. The project “Capacity development of rural schools” has given a new impetus to the field of education in rural areas. The results of on-site monitoring of subject knowledge indicate an increase in the performance of 4th grade students in Mathematics and the Kazakh language. Among 8th grade students there is a positive trend in 7 out of 9 subjects. Modern equipment is important to improve education and create an innovative environment.
– Rural schools are equipped with STEM and science laboratories. We are already seeing the results of this work. Some rural schoolchildren begin to work on various projects, such as Engineering,Robotics, noted Anuar Zhangozin.
After the event, the Chairman of the AEO NIS Board and the meeting participants visited the village of Badamsha and took part in the presentation of the interim results of the project “Development of the potential of core schools in rural areas.”
Let us recall that earlier 22 teachers of the Intellectual Schools of Astana, Petropavlovsk, Atyrau and Aktobe provided methodological assistance to support schools of Badamsha and Khromtau.
