Workshops of NIS teachers for colleagues from the rural school

As part of the international scientific and practical conference “Prosperity of rural schools is the key to the well-being of society,” held under the auspices of NIS, various workshops were conducted. The presented programs are relevant not only for rural support schools participating in the project, but also for domestic education in general.
Psychologists from Nazarbayev Intellectual school in Atyrau presented the “SpeakU” program for the prevention of bullying among teenagers. The main approach in which the “peer-to-peer education” program is implemented. What was particularly noteworthy was that the children were the developers of the activities, and they also acted as trainers who promoted the main ideas.
Another pressing issue is the study of the state language. For the first time in Kazakhstan, the Intellectual Schools of Kokshetau and Taldykorgan introduced a method of immersion in the Kazakh language based on the NIS educational program. At the conference, the deputy director of the NIS Kokshetau primary school, Aigul Tuleubayeva, and primary school teacher Azhar Boranbayeva shared the features of introducing the Kazakh language immersion method and its results.
In today's world, the emphasis is not only on academic knowledge, but also on contribution to service to society. 90% of NIS Taldykorgan students take part in social projects, which were discussed by the director of the Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Taldykorgan, Viktor Sossin. School graduates are also actively involved in the volunteer movement. For example, Daniil Filimonov spoke about the online school of the public foundation “Beyond Curriculum”. The Foundation implements more than 10 educational projects. For example, a robotics course. And NIS Taldykorgan Mathematics teacher Kaken Merey shared his volunteer experience in online teaching. Merey created an educational YouTube channel “Merey Agai” on Mathematics. During the pandemic, the channel became popular not only for Taldykorgan students, but also for all schoolchildren in the country.
Deputy Directors of Nazarbayev Intellectual school in Kostanay Rashit Tatimbekov and Yelena Vashchenko conducted a workshop on effective solutions for improving educational practice using digital tools. Solutions presented, including the implementation of a digital lesson monitoring system with notifications, the development of a rubricator for monitoring and assessing lessons, and the use of databases for effective data processing and analysis. During the workshop situations and their solutions on this topic were analyzed.
Teachers of Nazarbayev Intellectual school of Physics and Mathematics in the city of Almaty conducted 2 master classes. Topic of the first: “Studying the potential and effectiveness of using Digital platforms in the educational process in social and humanitarian subjects.” History expert teacher Zhanna Aitbayeva, English language expert teacher Yulia Kamenskaya, English language teacher-moderator Ainur Sembekova demonstrated how the use of digital technologies in the educational process can increase student engagement, improve student quality, provide personalized learning materials, provide access to information and resources.
Indira Gubasheva, additional education teacher from NIS Taraz, told how to use STEAM strategies within the Pottery club. Integration of Art with Mathematics, Chemistry, History helps students create products and transform them into business projects.
The teacher of the Astana International School, Adela Mae Martinez-Alguno, showed fun and interesting ways to conduct a lesson through stage games. Delegates of the Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Taraz Inna Aksenova, Inna Bogucharskaya, Maxim Rybalkin, Mirlan Dzhusambayev, Ansar Akim spoke about a safe STEAM environment for the formation of critical thinking and digital literacy through the integration of school subjects.
