Domestic and foreign experts analyzed the issues of development of rural schools

news
The international scientific and practical conference “Prosperity of rural schools is the key to the well-being of society” started in the capital. The event, organized by AEO "Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools", takes place within the framework of the project “Capacity development of rural schools”. More than 330 teachers from 80 rural schools in the country take part in the large-scale event. The first plenary session featured speeches by Honored Teacher of Kazakhstan Kulyash Shamshidinova, Director of the Foundation for Sustainable Development of Education Daniyar Toktarbayev, Norwegian cartoonist Oystein Christiansen and Lithuanian psychiatrist Darius Radkevicius.

– Demand for the project from regional akimats is high. Everyone wants schools to be equipped with modern technologies and STEM classrooms as part of the project “Capacity development of rural schools”. But for a rural school this is not the most important thing. The main thing is to improve the qualifications of teaching staff. We must create a teaching team that can develop the child using the resources provided to schools as part of the project. Therefore, digital transformation is, first of all, a revision of the expected learning outcomes, learning goals, and educational content. This is a revision of the assessment system using digital technology. This is a revision of the teaching technology methodology,” noted the statesman Kulyash Shamshidinova in her report.

The Foundation for Sustainable Development of Education provides great assistance in the implementation of this project. As the director of the fund, Daniyar Toktarbayev, noted in his speech:

– The Foundation for Sustainable Development of Education constantly supports successful cases and projects in the field of education. This year, our foundation supported the Roboland robotics festival, in which more than 35 teams from rural schools participated for the first time. In mid-November, more than 300 representatives of rural core schools will take part in the international conference EdCrunch, which is dedicated to innovative technologies in the field of education. MIT students will come to the Katon-Karagay district and teach village students under the Global Teacher Lab program. Thus, we select the best projects and scale them throughout the country and for all teachers and school students.

One of the questions that worries educators all over the world is how to attract children into education? If young children can be taught in a playful manner, what about teenagers? Young people can quite logically say why they need mathematics if they have a smartphone. The answer to this question was given by Darius Radkevicius. A certified therapist from Lithuania learned this secret from the first Minister of Education of the Kingdom of Bhutan. This is a small state that aims to build happiness.

The Noble Triangle consists of the following components. First, love for children. If you don't like children, don't go to school. Second, a passion for learning. And third, the most important point, is the ability to unleash the power of knowledge.

– You start not with a Geography textbook, but with what came before it. For example, Norway was the poorest country in Europe in 1900 and is now the richest. All this happened thanks to the collaboration of a scientist, businessman, and investor. An incredible idea to study the northern lights led to the production of fertilizers and increased productivity”, - the speaker noted.
