Collaboration between NIS and Cambridge reaches a new level

The UK is hosting an Annual Review following the first year of cooperation under the Accreditation Agreement. The event was a logical continuation of the 12-year collaboration between NIS and Cambridge on the development and implementation of educational programs, assessment systems and teacher training. Over the course of two days, key issues in the field of education are discussed, such as accreditation of qualifications, innovations in assessment, for example, the transition to online assessment (E-marker), the inclusion of the subject “English” in high school exams. Presentations and discussions include the impact of artificial intelligence on assessment processes, an overview of developments in the educational NIS-Programme, and plans for future cooperation.
“If for 10 years the development and provision of qualifications was carried out jointly with British partners, then from this year we are independently developing our qualifications and introducing best practices. In such a short period of time by historical standards, Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools have achieved high standards of qualification management equivalent to Cambridge.
Two independent institutes have appeared in the country for the development of curricula and assessment tools,” said Anuar Zhangozin, Chairman of the Board of AEO NIS.
As part of the meeting, the NIS delegation visited the University of Cambridge and the DC10 Printing and Logistics Facility, where current projects and prospects for cooperation were discussed. In turn, the Head of Educational Projects Waleed Bagadi noted that the Annual Review meeting was an important step in the development of educational relations between AEO NIS and Cambridge.
