news
The NIS strategic priorities were discussed with deputies of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan at the autonomous educational organization “Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools”.

During the meeting, the deputies got acquainted with the activities of the Intellectual Schools and studied in detail the work of the Centers for Educational Programs, Excellence and Pedagogical Measurements of NIS. They got an idea of the NIS-Programme curriculum, the main areas of training, the organization of educational work, the dissemination of the Intellectual Schools' experience, the advanced training of teachers, and cooperation with parents. The guests were also presented the NIS project - Beyim Tech , which has no analogues in Kazakhstan yet.

At the meeting, the Majilis members discussed the organization's achievements, the number of students and the progress of strategic goals. The Chairman of the Board also noted that in the future it is planned to increase the number of students from rural schools entering NIS. The Chairman of the Board noted that since the opening of the Intellectual Schools, more than 18 thousand graduates have graduated from schools, of which 80% chose domestic universities, and only 20% are studying abroad.

– Today, the Intellectual Schools are recognized by 65 foreign universities. However, this does not mean that all our students go abroad. This indicates that educational work in schools is well-established. To date, 3,661 graduates have studied at foreign universities. This is 19.6% of all graduates. Currently, 5,340 graduates work in the country, a total of 737 abroad. Gaining experience, many return to Kazakhstan.

As an example, the Chairman of the Board cited Temirlan Nurligenov, a graduate of the Intellectual School of Karaganda in 2020, who completed an internship at the Facebook (Meta) office in London for 3 months. And Beket Tolegen, who graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in America and lived there for 11 years, returned to Kazakhstan and successfully works at "Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary".

Also during the visit, the Majilis members visited the capital's Intellectual School of Physics and Mathematics.

The meeting emphasized the importance of interaction between educational and legislative bodies in order to create a favorable environment for the development of each student.
