Assessment of the level of functional literacy of students
As part of the project “Development of the potential of support schools in rural areas,” on January 29, 2024, in 62 rural schools, the Center for Pedagogical Measurements of AEO "Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools" tested 14-year-old students.
The main goal of the event was to assess the level of development of students' functional literacy and their ability to apply this skill in various real-life contexts.
3,666 students from 62 rural schools of the project took part in the testing. The event was divided into several streams, in each of which tests were conducted on mathematical, reading and natural science literacy.
At the moment, work has begun on processing test results to generate individual detailed reports for each student, as well as reports at the level of each school. The reports will help children see and address gaps in their knowledge, and teachers will be able to select tasks and teaching methods more purposefully.
