Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Physics and Mathematics in Uralsk opened in September 29, 2012.

The beginning of work of unique educational institution became the real event for the region. Nurlan Nogayev, the mayor of Uralsk took part in the opening ceremony of this education institute in West Kazakhstan region. 

It should be noted that the selection of students for Nazarbayev Intellectual school of Physics and Mathematics, which are able to study on programs of natural and mathematical direction, was carried out in 7, 8, 9, 11 grades where lessons are conducted in Kazakh, Russian and English languages.  In 2012 – 2013 academic year about 500 students started to study at school.  Competitive selection for working in the Intellectual school was passed by 56 teachers, at the same time many foreign teachers work here. 

The school in Uralsk is a full day school. The educational institution is calculated for 54 educational classes with the contingent of 600 pupils. 

Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Physics and Mathematics in Uralsk is equipped with the modern equipment, smart classes, the interactive boards, expanded laboratories on physics, chemistry, biology, Nano and Biotechnologies, and also offices of robotics, technical modeling, technology and art and others. At the same time, there are a "TV NIS" television station, cinema hall and mini-printing office at school. 

One of the features of educational process is the using of a multipurpose sensory "Active Table". Such system is applied in Kazakhstan for the first time and works only at Intellectual school of Uralsk. It allows six pupils with the teacher work on it at the same time. The usage of "An active table" is intended both for subjects’ lessons, and for scientific projects development and creative tasks. "Active Table" educates students for team working. 

The difference of the Intellectual school in Uralsk is that it has a hostel for 120 places, the first one among all the Intellectual Schools. Children from far regions have an opportunity to live in a big, comfortable boarding school. 

There are a sports block with a gym, library with a book-depository of 15 thousand books, a dining room, a medical aid station, an assembly hall and many other things provided at school.
