Annual meetings on the review of the joint projects of the autonomous educational organization “Nazarbayev intellectual schools” and the strategic partner Cambridge Assessment International Education took place in Nur-Sultan on 26-27 November 2019.
Cambridge University Delegation was represented by the Head of Education Services in North and Central Asia Steve King, Senior International Project Manager Alison Brolly, Senior Accreditation Advisor Georgie Billings, Group Manager of Assessment Projects Hugh Bateman, and Assistant Director Operations Jerry Papworth.
At the official meeting, AEO Deputy Chairperson Olga Mozhayeva presented the results of Nazarbayev Intellectual schools in 2019. During this time, 2 more Intellectual schools were awarded CIS International Accreditation, which is a mark of high-quality education, and now all schools are accredited by CIS. Another significant event was Nazarbayev Intellectual school of Nur-Sultan entering the international accreditation process, where CIS Membership visit took place on October 21-22, and as a result the school became a CIS member-school.
AEO NIS continues to work on recognition of NIS Grade 12 Certificate by national and international organisations and universities. This work resulted in AEO NIS being awarded with the international UNESCO Wenhui Award 2019.
Since the start of the academic year, AEO NIS staff participated in major international conferences, such as EdCrunch (Moscow, Russia), IAEA 2019 (Baku, Azerbaijan), AEA-Europe 2019 (Lisbon, Portugal), CIS Global Forum (Bilbao, Spain), EERA-2019 (Hamburg, Germany), WISE Summit (Doha, Qatar) and others. At these conferences. AEO NIS presented results of its work and research, as well as shared experience with the world’s leading experts in education and assessment.
The results of the joint work were presented by the Head of Education Services in North and Central Asia Steve King. Cambridge highlighted the administration and results of Grade 12 external assessment exams in 2019, which are recognized in Kazakhstan and abroad. Experts praised 2019 Grade 12 exams and assured that all examination procedures in place were in line with the standards of international qualifications A and AS Level.
