A significant event for the Intellectual Schools is the successful advance through the international accreditation from the CIS (Council of International Schools), the world's most famous organization created to promote higher standards and the latest achievements in the field of education. 

To date, eighteen Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools have been accredited by the Council of International schools – two schools in Nur-Sultan, Almaty and Shymkent, also in Semey, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kokshetau, Atyrau, Kyzylorda, Aktobe, Oral, Taldykorgan, Taraz, Pavlodar, Karaganda and Aktau. 

The procedure of accreditation presupposes a long and large-scale process, which is completed by a direct inspection at the school. The CIS experts admitted that according to all standards Intellectual Schools meet the stringent criteria at the world level. 

The new status of Intellectual schools means new perspectives for the whole pedagogical staff and students. At present, the prestigious club consists of leading schools and educational complexes from many countries. The CIS cooperates with top 50 universities in the world, which are interested in graduates of accredited schools. 

It is planned that all Intellectual Schools will be accredited before the end of 2019.
