Today in Nur-Sultan a republican seminar on improving the qualifications of French teachers was completed, in which teachers from Intellectual Schools took part.
For three days, teachers in schools, universities, various structures of the French cultural network, as well as students from all over the country, came to master teaching French. The participants were trained in several modules under the guidance of the French and Kazakh teachers and methodologists from France and Kazakhstan.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Kazakhstan Philippe Martine and Chairperson of the Board of the Autonomous Educational Organization "Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools" Svetlana Ispussinova spoke at the opening of the seminar.
- Today the number of students studying French in Intellectual Schools has grown to 1,143 students. There is a great merit of the French Embassy in Kazakhstan and the French Alliance in expanding interest. We would like to thank you so much for support, Svetlana Ispussinova emphasized.
French has been taught in Intellectual Schools since 2014. Only in the last year, the number of NIS students studying it as a second foreign language has increased 2.5 times. The French Alliance developed a language learning programme that is used in all Intellectual Schools. Thanks to the assistance of the French Embassy, the International Center De Valbonne annually allocates grants for Kazakhstani students who have the opportunity to attend summer courses. The Embassy also promotes Intellectual schools with native French teachers and provides textbooks.
