Student of Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Chemistry and Biology in Almaty Zhibek Teltayeva became the winner of EF Spelling Bee 2018 International Project, organized by educational company Education First.
EF Spelling Bee is a project aimed at developing English language skills among students of Grade 7-11 all over Kazakhstan. Approximately 3,000 school students from various regions of the country took part in this competition. It consisted of two stages - online testing and spelling.
The first round of the EF English Proficiency Index was held last December. In the final, the participants competed in spelling skills.
- Based on the results, one participant and me received the maximum score. The jury decided to arrange an additional round, where each of us had to deliver a speech, - said Zhibek.
As a result, the selection jury selected Zhibek Teltayeva. She won EF Spelling Bee 2018 International Project in Kazakhstan and received the main prize - an educational trip for one week to Education First school in Bristol (UK).
- Zhibek has always been a hard-working and diligent student. At the moment Zhibek's main goal is to obtain a brilliant education. She constantly participates in various subject Olympiads and competitions. In the list of her victories there are a lot of academic achievements, in which now the best result is on Spelling Bee, - noted English teacher Guldana Bolat.
